Dr. KV Gangadharan

Dr. KV Gangadharan is a Kerala-based Oncologist specialising in medical oncology, haemato-oncology, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lymphoma and myeloma. He is Senior Consultant and HOD in the Dept. of Medical Oncology at Baby Memorial Hospital (Calicut), and Associate Professor, Dept. of Medical Oncology, MES Medical College (Perinthalmanna). He can also be consulted privately at the Oncology Clinic at Jafferkhan Colony Road in Calicut.

After receiving the MBBS degree from the University of Calicut, Dr. Gangadharan did his post-graduation from NHL Medical College in Ahmedabad and followed this up with the DM superspeciality degree in Medical Oncology from BJ Medical College, Gujarat Cancer Research Institute, Ahmedabad.

Dr. Gangadharan started off his career as a PRHO (Medicine) at the Medical College in Calicut from May 1994 to April 1995. He was then posted as SHO (Medicine) at the Alshifa Hospital, Perinthalmanna, from July 1995 to February 1997. He was Junior Resident at the NHL Medical College, Ahmedabad whilst completing his MD, after which he returned to the Alshifa Hospital, designated as Physician. From 2001 to 2004, he was stationed at the BJ Medical College in Ahmedabad as Senior Resident as he successfully completed his superspeciality DM qualification.

MES Medical College, where Dr. Gangadharan teaches, was set up recently in Kerala. It admits 100 students for MBBS every year and has an attached 500-bed multispeciality hospital. Dr. Gangadharan attends to inpatients and outpatients here, teaches the undergraduates in clinics and wards and delivers lectures as well. At Baby Memorial, a 500-bed multispeciality hospital, Dr. Gangadharan serves as a Clinical Oncologist, and also attends all multidisciplinary meetings and teaching sessions in the hospital.

Dr. KV Gangadharan is well-versed with all aspects of medical oncology. He has presented many papers and delivered several lectures in CME programmes in the hospitals that he has been attached to. Besides being fluent in English, Hindi and Malayalam, Dr. KV Gangadharan is also proficient in Tamil and Urdu. He considers himself to be a sincere and dedicated medical practitioner, with an abiding regard for the values and ethics of the profession.
